Ive been working with some clients as of late, where toy storage has been high on the to-tackle list. Here are two gems that I wanted to pass along! One is the Kartel Componibili Laundry Basket. Yes, a clothes hamper turned into a dope tabletop with a pull-out storage bin! The second is THIS felt bin from Muuto. Oh la la!

I am totally in love with the function and form of Soojin Kang's Dressed Furniture Cabinet. How great would this play in a kid's room?!?

You are the bread and the knife,
the crystal goblet and the wine.
You are the dew on the morning grass
and the burning wheel of the sun.
You are the white apron of the baker,
and the marsh birds suddenly in flight.
However, you are not the wind in the orchard,
the plums on the counter,
or the house of cards.
And you are certainly not the pine-scented air.
There is just no way that you are the pine-scented air.
It is possible that you are the fish under the bridge,
maybe even the pigeon on the general's head,
but you are not even close
to being the field of cornflowers at dusk.
And a quick look in the mirror will show
that you are neither the boots in the corner
nor the boat asleep in its boathouse.
It might interest you to know,
speaking of the plentiful imagery of the world,
that I am the sound of rain on the roof.
I also happen to be the shooting star,
the evening paper blowing down an alley
and the basket of chestnuts on the kitchen table.
I am also the moon in the trees
and the blind woman's tea cup.
But don't worry, I'm not the bread and the knife.
You are still the bread and the knife.
You will always be the bread and the knife,
not to mention the crystal goblet and - somehow - the wine.

Recycled from gym floorboards and made from sustainable / eco-friendly materials, i'd say that Soren Rose designed some pretty stellar pieces! These could play very well in the modern child's bedroom, playspace or family room!

I've been busy as of late so my apologies for slow posts. Ive been working on some amazing projects. Some I can't share just yet, some i've yet to photograph, and some still in the works! In the mean time, I thought I'd share a few sneak peaks of a residential project out in Los Angeles. This is a custom bookcase/storage unit I designed along with the customized indoor play structure from CedarWorks. Take note of one really important feature in this space - the puzzle soft-tile wood grain flooring! More coming soon......

San Francisco based designers Gitane Royce and Nisreen Witt are the genius minds behind Modern Playhouse. They set out to design and produce a simple and modern outdoor playhouse that is not too insanely priced. They currently have two models available and also offer furniture and accessories to outfit your playhouse. You had me at sophisticated, sustainable and safe!
When Tina sent me this link, I literally stopped everything I was doing.

There is something very beautiful about the lines and look of the Tribeca Cot ..... although I am not feeling the legs. And perhaps it's just me but it looks like the marriage of OFFI's Nest crib and the OEUF Classic.

This a is phrase that is usually followed by a stern look of caution ... and luckily, I've yet to muster this to my own child. Yet the list of "phrases my mom used to say" are certainly starting to surface. So, when I stumbled upon this product designed by student Emanuel Cohen, I was impressed to see a candle and crayon making nice. The design is stellar and execution on point. The only question is - how long is the wick? It would be great if the crayon could way out live the candle.
