Not too long ago, I admitted that I had fallen in love with a treehouse. Well, this morning my love grew a bit deeper for THIS outdoor-cross stream-awesome-sanctuary-in-the woods-shelter. It makes me want to move to a place that has a stream in the back yard...... if only to re-create something like this.

On a recent trip out to Los Angeles, I found myself in the dope Silverlake shop known as ReForm School. I managed to pick up a few Shadow Puppets, Soopsori Rattles and a Felt Bird Purse kit. But what I really wanted to check in at the airport was an Amish Made Scooter.

While scouting for playful rugs for a client, these two from Amy Helfand really stood out. Her rugs are hand-knotted in Nepal with Tibetan wools and Chinese silks. And yes, they are all hand-carded, hand-spun and pot-dyed under the guidelines of GoodWeave, ensuring that no child labor is used in the production of her rugs.

A house within a house, a room within a room. Dave Keune designed this crib/changing station/dresser combo called Nina's House to solve the problem of making room for baby without having to renovate or move into a bigger place. Job well done! (thanks massi)

The One to Four Table by Leon Fitzpatrick was designed as low lounge table with seating. Not only is it beautiful, comes flatpacked and well designed .... it would make for one dope children's table. It would be great if that hole in the middle was a lid to a little bin underneath.

Amy Poehler has a great new website called Smart Girls at the Party. She interviews young girls who do really cool stuff. My daughter's favorite episode is on the Care Bears on Fire. The latest one on Rachel : The Engineer, is pretty great as well!

David Rockwell is taking his brainchild, Imagination Playground, and making this summer in NYC a bit more enjoyable for the kiddos and the kiddos at heart. Starting this weekend, a 825lbs, 75 piece mobile fun zone will pop up in the garden at the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum. June 6th look for a fun zone in Washington Sq Park and on June 26th, another pops up down at South Street Seaport. On July 17th, another fun zone will grace The High Line. For Mr. Rockwell, it was his mission to promote unstructured play ... allowing the user to design whatever they desire. I cannot wait!
